The J&K SLSA in order to have a birds view of plight of workers in unorganized sector in the State of Jammu & Kashmir, progress made in the implementation of Building and other Construction Workers(Regulation of Employment and Conditions of Services) Act 1996, the Un-organized Workers Social Security Act 2008, held meetings with Secretary Labour department, Labour Commissioner of J&K State and officials of Labour Department.
After assessing the plight of un-organized workers in state and progress made in the implementation of Building and other Construction Workers( Regulation of Employment and Conditions of Services) Act 1996, the Un-organized Workers Social Security Act 2008, J&K SLSA organized Two days workshop on the“Workers in the Un-organized Sector” their aspirations, challenges and way forward” in J&K State at Jammu in the month of 27th& 28th February 2016. The Workshop was held inThree parts i.e. inaugural part as part- (A)working Sessions as part-(B,) and valedictory Session as
Part C .The working Session part was held in four parts, working Session-I, working Session-II working Session-III and working Session-IV. Hon’ble Chief Justice of India (Patron in-chief NALSA) inaugurated the Workshop being the Chief Guest. The Hon’ble Judges of Supreme Court of India Mr Justice Anil R. Dave Judge Supreme Court of India.( Executive Chairman NALSA) and Hon’bleMr Justice Fakkir Mohamed Ibrahim KalifullaJudge Supreme Court of India are Guest of Honours. The Hon’ble Chief Justice of jammu and Kashmir High court, the Hon’ble Judges of the High Court of J&K, Mr. M.Y. Tarigami, Hon’ble MLA, Chief Secretary of J&K State, Vice Chancellors of Universities of Jammu & Kashmir, &Central Universities of State, Secretary Law & Parliamentary Affairs Department, Secretary Labour Department, Secretary Social Welfare Department, Member Secretary & Director NALSA, Chairpersons of DLSAS& TLSC’s of State, HOD’s of Law Universities of Jammu & Kashmir, Principals of other Private Law colleges, & Director Social Welfare Department, Labour Commissioner J&K State, Deputy Labour Commissioner of J&K State, ALC’s of J&K State, Trade Union Leaders, NGOs who work for upliftment of un organized workers werethe part of inaugural programme, and working Sessions.
